Giving Chinese remedies a go

Last week I had my first Acupuncture session – ever.
I wasn’t sure what to expect.  How much will it hurt? Will I feel a slight sting or will it burn like crazy?  The reason why I was worried about this, is that I usually suffer from a lot of pain when they draw blood or insert a drip if I’ve been on cortisone for a long period of time.  Sometimes it’s so bad that my vein pains to such an extent that I beg them to take it out or the vein actually spasms. (Very very odd feeling).

So was there a reason to worry? Nah – don’t think so.  I realize every person is different but for me it felt like a pinch  when it was inserted, but I’ve been through so much pain already in my life it really was a minor if you think about it.  I had a headache afterwards and could feel some of the areas where needles were but I experienced more detox-like symptoms than anything else.

This morning I had my second session Dr Lin and strangely he inserted some needles in new places like my lower legs. Even the needle inserted into my old scar didn’t hurt!  He then leaves you on a bed to ‘nap’ for anything from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours.

I think I’m going to give it a go.  Going to go for a few more sessions and watch my symptoms to see if anything improves.  So far I have definitely picked up a few improvements.  Only time will tell if the Acupuncture is the reason for these.
